Unapproved structural modifications

Chassis replacement or changes to the vehicle construction without the required inspection and testing. Registration document withdrawn and use suspended until the vehicle passes inspection.

Altered vehicle characteristics or devices

A vehicle with altered or non-functioning construction features or equipment, including an irregular chassis, silencer or installation.

Missing front or rear registration plate

Driving without either prescribed registration plate entails administrative detention of the vehicle for three months.

Incorrectly placed registration plate

Registration plates must be installed in the position and manner required by Articles 258 and 259. Administrative detention for three months.

Inappropriate driving speed

Speed must always be appropriate for the safety of people and property.

Speed not suited to road conditions

Drivers must reduce speed on bends, near intersections, at night and whenever conditions require it. Three licence points are deducted.

Non-compliant lighting devices

Lighting or visual-signalling devices that are not approved or are installed in an irregular position are prohibited. One licence point is deducted.

Disturbing noise while driving

Tyre skids, noise caused by driving style, prolonged idling and other avoidable noise connected with road use are prohibited.

Unclear or non-compliant foreign registration plate

Vehicles registered abroad must display a clearly legible registration plate that complies with the standard approved by the authority in the country of origin. No additional penalties.
